Job Description
MCS Group are delighted to be working with a large public sector organisation in their search for a procurement officer to add to their team.
The Role will consist of:
- Overall responsibility for the effective and efficient operation of the tendering and quotation process inclusive of evaluation, negotiation and recommendation of tenders to appropriate committee
- Providing procurement advice on procurement policy and procedures
- Assisting in the preparation and review of specification and tender documents
- Maintenance of procurement information on systems such as procurement policy, tender opportunities, contracts and contract management policy
- Liaising with external procurement bodies regarding procurement of goods and services
- Developing partnerships with internal and external customers and stakeholders to promote and foster relationships and identify opportunity for continuous development and improvement
- Maintain contract management framework
- Assist in the development, implementation and review of strategic procurement policy
The Person
As the successful candidate you will have the following background and experience:
Essential:
- At least 3 years relevant procurement experience and hold or be working towards a membership of CIPS OR 4 years relevant procurement experience and willingness to work towards achieving a membership
- Working knowledge of best practise procurement procedures and achieving best value for money
Desirable:
- Experience of working within public sector procurement
