Job Description
Job Title: Technical Analyst
Purpose of the Role:
Our client is seeking a skilled Technical Analyst to support and develop their voice and data networks, security, and server infrastructure. As part of a small, integrated team, you will provide third-level support and development for the IT Service Desk, supporting over 85 locations across Northern Ireland. Your role will involve maintaining the availability and accessibility of IT infrastructure according to service-level agreements. You will also be responsible for investigating and resolving incidents and problems, working within established security policies, and assisting in the development of new policies and procedures, following ITIL best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, support, and develop key business systems, including file, print, application, and database servers, and storage area networks.
- Oversee and support approximately 100 server systems, ensuring full lifecycle management from design to decommissioning.
- Monitor and refine server and network performance for optimal operation.
- Provide training to Information Systems staff on new systems and support the first and second-line teams.
- Design and manage security policies for the domain, as well as implement and manage new domain controllers.
- Oversee endpoint security solutions, including antivirus, anti-malware, NAC services, and firewalls.
Core Capabilities:
Essential:
- Experience: Practical experience in a multi-site, distributed ICT environment.
- Qualifications: Minimum HNC/HND or equivalent in IT or a business-related subject, or at least 3 years' experience in a similar role.
- Technical Skills: Experience with computer hardware, network components, and enterprise technologies such as email, web services, security, and databases.
- Problem-solving: Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Communication: Strong communication skills and ability to adhere to departmental standards and processes.
Desirable:
- Certifications: Cisco Certified, Microsoft Certified, Security Certification, ITIL Foundation certification, or professional membership of the British Computer Society.
- Experience: Experience working on IT projects.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of our client's business operations is a plus.

- Flexibility with work hours and a positive attitude towards varied workloads.
- A valid driving license and access to a vehicle.
