With a global presence, including North America, Europe, Asia, and India aPriori's unique, patented, intellectual property, enable manufacturers to accelerate product design, and bring products to markets faster while providing visibility to the sustainability of their design and manufacturing choices.
The role encompassed owning the full-cycle accounting for aPriori’s subsidiaries, ensuring the reporting of monthly financial results, as well as being the point of contact for local payroll, annual audits, tax compliances, statutory reporting, and other local compliance activities.
The Challenge
The position was a critical strategic hire for the business as they sought to establish a robust international finance function to support their offices outside the United States. It required a senior-level professional with exceptional stakeholder management skills, the ability to navigate multiple time zones effectively, and deep expertise in technical accounting, particularly in US GAAP compliance.
The Solution
The recruitment was conducted on an exclusive basis, ensuring a focused search and selection process tailored to aPriori's specific needs.
The recruitment process was meticulously planned and executed:
- CV Review: Five CVs were initially considered, with four candidates progressing to the first interview stage.
- Interview Process: four candidates were then taken to the second interview stage, three candidates were then taken to the third interview stage, one candidates was then taken to the final interview stage culminating in a final offer.
- Timeline Management: A clear timeline was established for shortlisting, interviewing, and reviewing CVs, with agreed-upon dates for each stage to ensure a smooth and efficient process.
Results
The recruitment timeline was as follows:
Recruitment Kick-off: 18 October
Offer Extended: 5th December, after an 7-week period
Notice Period Commencement: 6th December, starting a 3-month notice period
The entire process included one week of shortlisting, a three to four stage interview process, one week to confirm the offer, and the final hiring decision, demonstrating an effective and systematic approach to filling this critical role - all whilst involving multiple stakeholders and time zone differences.
