As an organisation, we are passionate about supporting every aspect of our employee’s wellbeing through our MCS Life initiative. We have a dedicated MCS Life Team who are the champions of our wellbeing strategy focused on four key pillars of Social, Mental, Physical and Financial Wellbeing.
- Social Wellbeing – The social wellbeing of the team and ensuring a sense of connection is maintained at MCS in several ways! This includes regular staff meetings, investment in social activities, team days out and quarterly company parties. The social wellbeing team also organise initiatives to give back to the local community through various fundraising activities.
- Mental Wellbeing – our MCS Life Team champion mental health in the workplace to ensure no employee ever feels isolated and knows they can turn to someone for help. We have several employees who are Mental Health First Aiders who can recognise the symptoms of mental health problems, provide initial help and guide colleagues towards appropriate professional help. MCS invest in MediCash, Smart Health and LifeWorks for all employees which offers virtual GP access, meditation apps, counselling sessions, physio and much more! We also run regular Mental Wellbeing workshops for employees on managing stress in the workplace and every week employees are entitled to a Vitamin D hour which gives the team an hour of free time each week to take a break, recharge, and refresh!
- Physical Wellbeing – the MCS Life Team are advocates of a healthy lifestyle for body and mind so encourage MCS participation in corporate sports leagues such as rugby, 5-a-side football, charitable events like Run in the Dark or GT Runway Run or simply programmes designed to encourage participation across the board like the 100 Day Step Challenge. The MCS Life Team have launched free yoga to all employees twice a month, the class focuses on meditation and breath work and has been a huge success!
- Financial Wellbeing - we have partnered with Brewin Dolphin, who provide investment management and financial planning services throughout the UK and Ireland, for a bespoke financial wellbeing programme. As part of this programme, they have hosted financial education sessions for the team at MCS which have been hugely beneficial.
