Job Description
MCS Group is proud to be working with a highly successful manufacturing company to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer for their Magherafelt site.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing new products, improving existing products and ensuring all designs meet the highest standards.
You will;
- Design and develop new products from concept to production, ensuring customer requirements and industry standards are met.
- Create details 3D models and CAD drawings, using software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD/ or similar
- Select appropriate materials for products and components
- Develop and test prototypes to evaluate design concepts
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, and collaborate to ensure designs are feasible and cost-effective
- Prepare detailed documentation
Essential Requirements
- Educated to Degree level in Mechanical Design Engineering, Product Design Engineer or relevant
- Have a minimum of 2 years experience in product design
- Proficient in 3D modelling and CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
- Understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
Desirable
- Experience with designing injection moulded components
- Knowledge of designing aluminium extrusion profiles and PVS extrusion profiles.
