Laboratory Informatics Specialist (LIMS)

MCS Group is delighted to announce an exclusive contract opportunity for a LIMS SME/Analyst to join a growing irish organisation as they seek to conduct a thorough LIMS assessment in 2025.

(Hybrid 2 days per week in office)

The Role:

• Conduct process mapping and gap analysis of existing laboratory workflows and data management.
• Gather, document, and analyse business and technical requirements for the future LIMS implementation.
• Identify key pain points and areas for process improvement within the laboratory operations.
• Develop user stories, use cases, and functional specifications for the future LIMS system.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define success criteria and key performance indicators (KPIs) for LIMS adoption.
• Provide recommendations on LIMS selection criteria based on laboratory needs and best practices.

The Person:

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst or LIMS Consultant, ideally within life sciences, pharma, or clinical laboratories
• Hands-on experience with LIMS platforms (e.g. LabWare, STARLIMS, LabVantage, SampleManager etc.)
• Strong skills in process mapping, gap analysis, and capturing business/technical requirements
• Confidence facilitating workshops and working closely with cross-functional teams - from scientists and lab managers to IT and vendors
• Ability to translate requirements into user stories, use cases and functional specs
• Experience supporting LIMS selection, system design or implementation projects
• Familiarity with GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, or regulated lab environments
