The role

  • Support line management through provision of professional HR advice in all employment matters. This will include interpretation of terms and conditions of service, application of policies and procedures, understanding of employment law and best practice in HR
  • Offer guidance and advice on interpreting and applying HR policies and procedures and support development of appropriate procedures
  • Provide support to management in undertaking investigations, chairing meetings and appeals
  • Ensure co-ordination and management of ER cases internal and external to the organisation
  • Lead employee recruitment including organising and chairing panels, identifying selection methods and advising on current employee legislation and codes of practise
  • Ensure comprehensive personnel records are maintained in accordance with legislation
  • Train line managers on HR policies, procedures and processes
  • Participate in liaising with and consultation and negotiation with trade unions

The Person

As the successful candidate you will have the following background and experience:

Essential:

  • Diploma in HR management (OR CIPD level 5) or relevant qualification
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in the following:
  • Recruitment
  • Employee relations
  • Union engagement
