MCS Group is working with one of their closest clients as they seek to appoint a Cloud Engineering Manager to their growing team. An award winning business which has seen exponential growth over the last 2 years off the back of their transformative technology being utilised by organisations across the UK and Ireland and beyond. They've grown by over 100 staff in the last 12 months alone and have created a Cloud leadership position within the senior team to drive cloud strategy across both existing and new clients.

The Role
- Design, implement, and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability and scalability.
- Lead the automation of operational processes and deployments using Python and other scripting tools.
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Develop and enforce cloud security strategies, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of cloud-based solutions.
- Own the cost management and optimization of cloud resources, ensuring efficient utilization.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on cloud architecture, driving innovation within the infrastructure team.
- Liaise with clients and be the SME for any cloud related issues.
The Person
- 8+ years experience in technical leadership within cloud operations with a strong focus on AWS (Amazon Web Services).
- Proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and infrastructure management.
- Experience with cloud security best practices and compliance standards.
- Strong understanding of networking, storage, and compute in a cloud environment.
- Expertise in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Solid experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work autonomously.
- Full right to work in Ireland or UK and availability to travel when necessary for the role. Ideally the candidate will be located close to offices in Belfast, County Louth or London which will make collaboration with other senior leaders easier but I'm open to speaking with candidates all over Ireland and the UK if there is synergy with the requirements.
