Finance Manager

MCS Group are delighted to be partnering exclusively with this public sector organisation in their search for a temporary Finance Manager.

The role

• Oversee financial accounts and operational finance functions, ensuring robust controls are in place.
• Monitor expenditure streams to ensure alignment with delivery goals and value-for-money principles.
• Lead the planning and execution of year-end reporting, audits.
• Provide formal justification for accounting treatments, postings, and disclosures in complex areas to secure audit clearance for year-end and ongoing compliance.

The Person

As the successful candidate you will have the following background and experience:

• Qualified accountant with at least three years post qualification experience.
• Line management experience of finance staff.

Desirable:

• Experience and good understanding of government finance.
