Database Support Engineer - 9 Month FTC

MCS is delighted to be working with a leading organisation in the manufacturing sector who are seeking a skilled Database Support Engineer to join their technical operations team. This 9 month fixed term contract focuses on the delivery, stability, and optimisation of a mission-critical database environment across both on-premise and cloud-based platforms.

This is a fully on-site role based in Craigavon, with the added benefit of an early finish on Fridays.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and maintain a range of enterprise data systems, ensuring high performance and availability
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, identifying root causes and applying long-term fixes
• Carry out routine system checks and implement recommended improvements
• Support service improvement initiatives and infrastructure upgrades
• Play an active role in ongoing technical projects and platform enhancements

Skills & Experience Required:

• Proven expertise in managing Microsoft SQL Server environments
• Strong background in system security, access control, and user permissions
• Experience with tuning and performance optimisation of databases
• Confident in managing backups, restoration, and data recovery processes
• Familiarity with hybrid data environments (on-prem/cloud)
