Job Description
MCS Group are delighted to be partnering with Translink for an exciting new permanent opportunity based in Belfast for a Commercial Manager.
About the role
To develop and implement a best practice framework for cost, value and contract management for construction projects, provide support and assurance for project planning and delivery, manage dispute resolution and seek continual performance improvement. The role will provide specific Contract and Cost management support across all the Project and Commercial teams.
Essential Criteria
- Minimum of a Degree in Quantity Surveying or other relevant Construction Management subject or equivalent.
- Chartered Surveyor Status with RICS or ICES or willing to obtain relevant surveying-chartered status within a defined timeframe.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a construction related quantity surveying role.
- Experience in compiling contracts for major construction works and service contracts/frameworks.
- Experience in managing construction contracts for building and civil engineering sectors.
- Proven experience in cost estimating and cost management.
- Experience in dispute resolution and in construction law
- Experience in the NEC suite of contracts
- Experience of using MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- Full current driving license and access to a vehicle to meet the requirements of the post in full.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends if required.
