My client is seeking an entrepreneurial and enthusiastic Software Developer to join their FinOps team in London. My client operates with a flat structure, empowering engineers to work directly with Traders, Quants, Treasury, Finance, Operations, and other technology teams. This hands-on role encourages an iterative, collaborative approach that enables engineers to solve real-world business problems efficiently and effectively.

Key Details:

• Lead the Charge: Take ownership of developing cutting-edge in-house systems that will drive my client's expansion into new asset classes. You won't just be maintaining existing systems-you'll be building the future of their technology landscape.
• Collaborate and Innovate: Work side by side with Traders, Quants, and Finance teams to translate business needs into impactful tech solutions. Your ideas will directly influence the trading strategies and operational efficiency of the company.
• End-to-End Execution: From concept to deployment, you'll be hands-on in delivering high-quality, scalable code. Whether building new features, optimizing existing systems, or troubleshooting critical issues, your work will be vital in ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
• Drive Continuous Improvement: Beyond coding, you'll play a key role in evolving the tech stack, improving processes, and exploring new technologies to keep the firm at the cutting edge of the asset management industry.
• Work Schedule: Hybrid arrangement, 3-4 days onsite
• Primary Tasks: Develop and support a variety of middle office systems, including Company General Ledger, HR Systems, and EOD trade reconciliation
• Technology Stack: Java, Distributed Systems, Microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, with elements of Vue.js or React
• Project Involvement: Engage in greenfield development on new projects, alongside some system support responsibilities

Requirements:

• Financial Services experience is required: Hedge Fund, Trading Firm, Fintech, etc.
• 5-10 years of hands-on experience in Java development (Open to C# candidates happy to transition)
• Proficiency in Distributed Systems, Microservices, and understanding of upstream/downstream data
• Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with Kafka/RabbitMQ or similar messaging systems
• Knowledge of Vue.js or React (preferred but not mandatory)
• Exposure to one or more of any of the following would be beneficial: Elasticsearch, Neo4j. Spark, Hadoop, Snowflake, AWS Redshift
